I'm wondering how to change the thickness of leader lines. I'm editing a drawing done by someone else and I need to make the leader lines thicker. I tried changing the layer thickness and making sure the settings were such that the leader line thickness would be determined by the layer. I also tried channging the leader line thickness in properties and/or leader styles, but no luck there either. Anyone know what might be going on?

I am running AutoCAD MEP 2012. Does anyone have a basic routine for a conduit leader?

Autocad 2012 Part I When I place a diameter/radius leader, it is a set length. I can move it all around the circle I'm dimensioning but the length of this leader is set. It is really short and it sucks to have to place the dimension then move it to where I want it as a second step. Is there a setting that will allow me to drag this dimension where I want and make the leader as long as I desire? Part II: In Autocad 2009, if you wanted to change a leader location, you could pick the text grip and it would move the end of the leader to that point then place the dimension from that point. Now picking the grip places the text and I have no control over the angle of the leader (our standards require leaders to always be a set angle from the object!) PLEASE advise!! Thanks!

In my current drawing, when I click into Model Space through a viewport and draw a leader, the leader is drawn with a Z coordinate of 0", but the text is being drawn at -9", so the leader is not associative and it doesn't have the tail on it. I just noticed it's also doing it in Model Space in the World UCS. How do I fix this?!?

Hello community! Since people were kind enough to help me on my first attempt, (thanks mostly to StykFacE ) I am back with a second thread regarding blocks and dim leader. When using dim leader, we can choose the arrow head we need from a droplist in the Properties Palette (arrow filled/blank, dot filled/blank, box, oblique, triangle, etc.). The one concerning this post is the last one in the list : user arrow. I want to use an ellipse block as "user arrow". I use this block when I have like 3 or more pipes, wires, ducts, with the same sizes close to each other. Basically, the ellipse groups all objects visually and the leader shows the size for all of them (instead having a multileader pointing to every single item.) At the moment, I have to insert the ellipse block in my drawing, delete it (without purging it so it stays in memory) then I can select it from the "user arrow" menu. I'd like my block to be already loaded in the drawing for me to use it and get rid of the preivous steps I explained. For new drawings, I don't have this problem because I have included the block in our default template. Every time a new drawing is created using the template, the block becomes available for me to use it as user arrow. However, for old or existing drawings, the fix doesn't apply and I have to manually insert the block and then remove it from model space. Any idea on how I could tackle this one? My spidey sense tells me it involves LISP.

Hello, I am trying to figure out how to stop AutoCAD LT 2010 from hiding my leaders and multileaders behind elevated solid objects, when using the hide command (or plotting with hidden lines enabled). I can find no way to elevate those items, nor any command to set a general override (like the HIDETEXT setting). Leader has a vertex Z property. but when I set it the darn thing always resets to 0 immediately. Neither leader nor multileader have an elevation property. I see two workarounds: a) place the annotations down in paperspace b) move all solid objects below the base plane advice?
