  1. Hey guys! Do y'all know of a way to get ACAD to prompt for selecting object rather than picking an internal point when pulling a hatch pattern from a palette? Thanks, Liz
  2. Hey guys, first time posting so forgive (and gently correct) any lapses in forum etiquette. So basically I'm trying to automate labeling landscape plans. Looking for a pain-free way to slap an accurate multileader on clusters of blocks, the original of which will have been pulled from a palette. I know what you’re thinking—just use a block name->mleader LISP. Whale, our block names are written in a slightly different format than the desired leader text, for easier lookup. EG: •Block name: Oak-Red •Mleader text: X-Red Oak So an ideal solution: •Needs to pull from palette block description or some attribute other than block name •Needs to be palette-friendly This LISP is really great. BUT, we make our palettes by wblocking each block to its own drawing and then dragging all of those separate drawings into the palette (any other way and the palette moves ridiculously slow). WB saves the block as a drawing and removes block description, meaning the LISP doesn’t work on blocks taken from the palette . So, do y’all know how to rewrite this LISP (is that even allowed—rewriting someone else’s LISP? Sorry, newbie here) to pull the description from the palette display (which I would go through and input) _or_ to retain the original block description through the WB process? Unless y’all can come up with something clever, my workaround is going to be to change the block name to the desired Mleader text (X-Red Oak) and then change the block display name in the palette for easy look-up (Oak-Red), and then use a block name->mleader LISP. This works, but is not ideal—would take an obnoxious amount of time and they’d see “X-Plant Name” when doing bcount (not a huge deal). HALP and thanks!
  3. AutoCad Mechanical 2016, Having trouble with Dynamic Block icons in my custom palettes. I have searched this and other forums and haven't found any current info on my issue. Below is my process I created a custom palette with 30 regular blocks. The blocks are all defined in one master block drawing. I used ADC to locate the drawing and then RMB to "Create Tool Palette" I then decided to make some of them Dynamic, so I opened the master drawing selected a block and opened it with the Block editor. I made my updates with parameters and actions and Visibility and saved the block. I tested the block all works fine. However, my palette for that block did not update with the lightning bolt icon. I then selected the block properties in the palette and selected "Update Tool Image" that caused the Icon to get very small, hardly visible, and still no lightning bolt symbol. How do I fix this, what did I do wrong? Thanks for you help.
  4. I have been away from hands on drafting with Autocad for many years (since 2006) but am now getting back into it and need to know how to convert my vast library of schematic electrical blocks into something that I can readily use in AutoCAD MEP 2014. I see that there are palettes as a part of the content browser but they do not seem to be very complete so I definitely need to use the blocks that we have created over the years. So far I like what I see in MEP 2014 a lot and have been able to pick up much from where I left off in 2006 but the lack of relevant blocks is a huge time killer Is there a YouTube video or a written tutorial to help integrate the old with the new? Thanks in advance
  5. I have just downloaded trial verion of AutoCAD for Mac, onto new Macbook Pro. The two palettes are there on the screen left hand side, but I cannot find the classic toolbars, which I cannot work without. Any HELP please????? Tony
