  1. Ok, so I have a viewport everything is good, the xref is looking like the original. UNTIL I set a scale to the viewport in paper space and all my layers shift colors, the doors and windows (I'm using autocad architecture 2012) change their display properties (which I know how to change in the original file but since you can't select the individual object, hence the xref, you can't access the display properties). I want it to look like this (base file): BUT when I set a scale in the viewport it changes to this (xrefed file): As you can see, the way both the doors and windows display changes, layer properties change (colors) BUT the kicker is that in the layers manager they are all still set the way they are supposed to in both the layers and viewport layers manager. ALSO, the blue lines showing the window sills should NOT be there. HELP!!!
  2. Hello By a mistake i have drawn my drawing in millimeters. Thus when i print it in 1:1 it is to small . And when i click on my block and go to properties, I can't change the block unit it is grey market. is it possible to change that in centimeters ? Greets
  3. Has anyone else run into this situation? You're checking on dozens of objects, one after the other, keeping the Properties pane open and docked to the side. Normally the pane closes after it loses focus (you move the pointer off of it). Every so often, though, it stays open for no apparent reason. The easy way to close it is to click on the border.
  4. Hello im running AutoCAD 2010 as part of a Inventor Package and everything was working fine until i installed the Inventor 2011 ......(it was to try to sort something else out as the new features were introduced in 2011, but because of work policy were stuck using 2010......isn't work grand) Ive uninstalled 2011 without anything going wrong with Inventor 2010 but its AutoCAD 2010 im having trouble with If i create anything (could be a line or dimension) and then open the properties window or quick properties what used to be there isn't..... - in the quick properties it says it cant define anything - in the main properties window, instead of being able to alter the scale of the line / text & adjust lengths etc, the fields have been replaced, at the bottom of the fields are UCS co-ordinates initially i thought it was because installing 2011 has corrupted the files or done something weird and wonderful to them so ive tried: -Repairing -Reinstalling - Without Uninstalling the original AutoCAD 2010 -Reinstalling - With Unistalling the original AutoCAD 2010 Im running a XP 64bit machine with the latest service pack Ill get a screenshot to add tomorrow to make it clear what im on about.

    Double click properties.

I'm having a minor irritation with LT at the moment, when selecting multiple items near one another I occasionally click too fast and the machine reads this as a double click and subsequently brings up the properties palette. As I have quick properties enabled and can quite easily use ctrl+1 when I want the panel there is there a way of disabling the double click properties? It's more annoying than anything else and it breaks my concentration My machine is a bit slow as I may have mentioned (*****ed) about before so leaving the palette open and hidden does slow me down and I have tried adjusting the mouse double click settings but can't find a happy medium.
  6. I am trying to calculate multiple arcs (to similate part of an ellipse) to determine the individual distances from certain parts of the ellipse, but when I double click on the arcs, the properties manager shows the arc lengths as fractions, and not very accurate ones. I want it to show decimal inches. I already have my dimension settings on decimal inches, but that doesn't help. How do I get the properties manager to show me arc lengths in decimal inches? Thanks!
  7. I have a whole lot of U-Bolts that I need to make in to Dynamic Blocks - I need to just add a stretch parameter so the nuts can be moved up and down according to plate thickness. I've done about 15 so far, quite a few left - then I wondered if it was possible to match properties of one completed dynamic block, to one non-dynamic block? Thanks.
