List of blocks??

I am looking for a tool that can tell me what blocks are in each drawing within a folder containing many drawings. I want to know the block name, its attributes, and what is populated in its attributes.

Is there such a tool available?

Check out "attext" for a start this will dump all the block info its a autocad command

You can also use your design center Ctrl+2 (shortcut) click on your drawing file and then blocks and it will list all blocks in drawing. No attributes though you will need to do an attribute extraction for this as referenced in the post from Bigal or ATTOUT for a txt. file containing all attribute info selected.

I found what I was looking for after looking up how to use attext in the AutoCAD help file. dataextraction... I have used this tool before but its been so long that I forgot it existed. I customized the output to give me exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for all your help. Oh and thanks for the bnum tool Atwist. This tool will come in handy.
