I've been searching for an answer to this question: What if any is the advantage of placing fields in Block attributes Verses placing the fields in Mtext for the same purpose( think title bock info and numbering)? My initial thought is that it's just two ways to skin the same cat. HOWEVER...... I've been tasked with setting up the company drafting standards and will be working extensively with Sheet Set Manager as part of the stream line process. I work in the Civil/Survey world so the job folder tend to has several moving parts.

Hopefully someone can help me out there that is much more experienced. I thank you in advance for any help provided! The drawing: I have created a dynamic block (see attached below) I have two versions in the drawing, one that is setup using text, and the other using attributes. The text version is exactly how I want my dynamic block to react. In addition I'm also having a similar issue with another window block that did work correctly, not is not working correctly. Dynamic Blocks.dwg The issue: The kitchen layout, when trying to use the move actions, my attributes are not moving correctly, they are offset and move sporadically, or other attributes are moving that I don't want. Its even more wired because the bottom portion on the cabinet island works perfect, the refrigerator/range part does not work properly. The window block attribute will not rotate anymore, it used to when I first created it. I really hope someone can help me, because I'm really stumped and can't find a solution to why this is happening anywhere. I thought I understood by locking the attributes, but that's not working in this case and its very frustrating. Is there possibly a system variable that needs to be changed? I was wondering if anyone can help with problem I have. I am using Autocad 2011 although I only use it to tidy my drawings prior to sending to my client, my proficiency is quite basic. I have been tasked with surveying a number of feeder pillars or cabinets with 5 points of data, pt 1 is the centre of the doors, the other 4 points are the corners of the cabinet always in the same order. These can be imported into Autocad as a series of points and then I have to join the dots, and draw the cabinet. I know a little about blocks and that I can create a block of my drawing and place it over the five points, and then I'm stuck as if I change the block once it changes it in all the other positions. After i have placed the block, I need to list the coordinates of the 5 points, this i do individually using the id command and copy and paste into a table. Is there anyway to speed this up? I have attached a sketch of what I'm after doing, there could be as many 20+ cabinets in a drawing. So any help is appreciated. Many thanks in advance. fp1 trial.dwg feeder pillar template.pdf

Morning Everyone, I've just won a fabulous project with a very well known supermarket producing phasing drawings for their new store fit-outs; I receive their drawings in DWG format with as you can imagine thousands of blocks detailing the shop fixtures. Each blocks contact a minimum of 5 attributes that they use for merchandising etc. This information is of no use to me what so ever and I would like to delete the information from the block as it messes up my phasing drawings making them illegible . Is there a lisp or any code that could remove all the attribute entry information (nothing else without resetting the block as they are mostly dynamic blocks) so I dont have to select each and every block to delete the information. I have tried freezing the attribute layer out of the drawing but this doesn't work due to not all the attributes being setup on the same layering standard . Hi, When i use the command -attdef: -ATTDEF Enter an option to change [Invisible Constant Verify Preset Lock position Annotative Multiple lines]: so i can toggle the invisible mode with the code (command "-attdef" "I" "" ... ) now i would like to check te current state of this invisible mode to know if i have to toggle it or not something like: (if (= invisible-mode "n") (command "-attdef" "I" "" ...) (command "-attdef" "" ...) )
