PEFL Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 When I start Autocad 2002 I get a page that allows me to choose the drawing I want to work on. The problem is I am getting so many choices. Files I deleted a year ago still appear. How can I get rid of these files that no longer exist on my computer? Thanks Quote
Patrick Hughes Posted May 22, 2009 Posted May 22, 2009 I can think of a couple of approaches, the first not likely to find anything. 1) In Windows Explorer browse to your documents and settings >> your user name >> recent folder. See if there are shortcuts to the files that are appearing and delete the shortcuts. 2) When that dialog appears can you right click on the file and if so does it offer you the option to remove it from the list? 3) WARNING - this method can be harmful to your computer if you are not familiar with the registry Start the Regedit program, perform a search for the file name(s) in question. They will likely appear under a key such as: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R14.0\ACAD-2453121:60014187\Recent File List (or it may say MRU somewhere in there) MRU = "Most Recently Used" In the right hand window pane select the named file that is no longer available, right click >> delete Make certain you do this only in the right window pane Quote
PEFL Posted May 22, 2009 Author Posted May 22, 2009 Editing the registry did the trick. Thanks for the ideas. Quote
