Proctor Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Hello: I received a drawing that was done using metrics and I would like to convert it to standard; I went to Format, and set units to inches - but this apparently isn't enough because when i use one of my custom line types that lays out blocks at 3 per ft: I draw a line that's 12 inches and it should therefore display 4 blocks - but it only shows me one. do i need to do something else? I also tried copy and pasting the object into a new drawing but it still does the same thing. it must retain settings. maybe i need to scale? if so, how would i scale for conversion to standard. thanks, Proctor Quote
ReMark Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 Scale the objects in the drawing from mm to inch. Keep in mind that 0.0393700787 inches = 1 millimeter. As for the problem with the linetypes. Try setting the system variable Measurement from "1" (metric) to "0" (imperial) and see if it makes a difference. The variable, per AutoCAD's Help file explanation, "controls whether the current drawing uses imperial or metric hatch pattern and linetype files." Quote
Proctor Posted June 25, 2009 Author Posted June 25, 2009 ReMark: Thank you very much helping me. I did both suggestions and it's working perfectly now. thanks again. Proctor Quote
ReMark Posted June 25, 2009 Posted June 25, 2009 I'm continually amazed that any advice I give actually works. I guessed right again? Seriously though, I am glad you were able to correct your problem. Happy to be of some small service to a fellow AutoCAD user. You're entirely welcomed Proctor. Quote
