newuser28 Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Hi. I don't know too much about AutoCAD. I remember using it in a high school class until my course was dissolved in its second week (I, and everyone else was sent to some other course). However, I do remember how out-of-this-world the program was and that's why I turned to AutoCAD for this question: can 1) AutoCAD be used to make a 3D model of a stuffed tiger doll 2) can this model then be taken apart into flat pieces to be printed and used as a layout for fabrics to be cut out according to in order to reconstruct the stuffed tiger doll? I have a personal project that I would like to get started on. If this could happen, it would make this and future projects really far-out. Thanks for any help. Quote
nocturne00 Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 1) yes autocad can be used to draw up your tiger doll 2) I dont think its possible to sort of.. spread out the components of said doll to create the cutting patterns. Though thinking about this procedure is a bit interesting Quote
ReMark Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Sounds like you would need some kind of add-on software to AutoCAD or switch to a program similar to FashionCAD. Quote
scj Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Don't know if it works for tigers, but here is a test using a (half-)cow. (The cow wasn't made by me - only the unfolding). In case of interest contact me via http://www.black-cad.de regards Jochen cow_2.zip Quote
