jwchu3 Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 hi, i am familiar with VBA in excel and am wanting to extract information from the title blocks of our drawings (specifically the title, date, sheet size and revision number) so that we can use this in our document transmitals and drawing registers. does anybody know how this can be done from excel bearing in mind that we need to o this for many drawings in a particluar folder? all our drawings are set up using an enhanced attribute editor. any example of VBA would be greatly appreciated. many thanks, jeremy Quote
fuccaro Posted August 25, 2009 Posted August 25, 2009 Welcome in the forum, Jwchu3! Years ago I managed to batch export attributes using AutoLisp. Search in the forum for GATTEX, see if you can get some help from it. It outputs data in CSV format, but you can simple open it in Excel. Quote
jwchu3 Posted August 26, 2009 Author Posted August 26, 2009 thanks fuccaro, i have had a look and can see how it works. ideally i would like a VBA based function that runs from excel because thats were we keep all our document transmittal records - but im not sure that it can be done. i will look into using AutoLisp. thanks again, jeremy Quote
