diamondheart87 Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Hi- I installed AutoCAD 2009 on my PC and when I open it nothing is there at all. It has a black screen, no command line, and the A in the upper left-hand. Does anyone know why it is like that? Also how can I get the toolbars/tabs/pull downs like it is suppose to be? Please help! Thank you!!!! Amber Quote
f700es Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Reinstall it, sounds like it is missing it's mnu (menu) file. Quote
ScribbleJ Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 Welcome to AutoCad 2009 clean screen. You can click on the A in the upper left-hand corner to get your menus. Just to the right of the A there should be a quick access toolbar. Right click on it and click on Show Menu Bar. To get your Command Line press Cntrl+9. To turn cleanscreen off and on type in cleanscreenon cleanscreenoff. One reason they don't show the Commandline by default now is because of the Dynamic input. Pressing F12 toggles this. That will get you started. Quote

It it very weird. Quote
ScribbleJ Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 That very well may be the problem. I was posting as f700es was and he beat me to the punch. I didn't even think about the install being the issue. Normally it isn't but we are working with PC's here so anything is possible. The quick access toolbar may not be part of vanilla AutoCad 2009 but I would think it is since Map3d and Civil 3d which are built on AutoCad have it. Quote
ReMark Posted September 1, 2009 Posted September 1, 2009 I would try a Repair prior to trying a reinstall. If that fails there are specific steps to be taken to ensure that everything is removed before attempting a reinstall. Quote
