Timber Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 Hi folks, I wonder if anyone has a surefire way to make a basement floor slab. I need to make one for a house I am designing. I started with tracing the interior of the foundation wall with a polyline and then tried to extrude it 4". This worked, but it is now just an extruded line, and not a solid. thanks in advance.........Tim Quote
kencaz Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 It needs to be closed or it will extrude the P-lines as surfaces. KC Quote
ReMark Posted December 6, 2009 Posted December 6, 2009 The extrusion of a closed polyline should result in a solid. Try again. Quote
Timber Posted December 6, 2009 Author Posted December 6, 2009 Thanks guys, I'll try again. Maybe it is the way I'm looking at it. I traced the inside of the footprint, then right as I the second to last corner, I hit 'c' on command line and this closed the polyline. Then I extruded the polyline. Normally, well I say normally, I have more time. But I'm under deadline to get this done. I ended up going into the design center and finding a slab tool. This worked. But I still need to color it or turn the basement floor into a carpet so the floor looks finished. If there is a quick way to do this I'd appreciate help. Thanks......Tim Quote
Ringis Posted December 7, 2009 Posted December 7, 2009 Select your slab and right click, select "Edit slab style" then choose Materials. Under Material Definition, choose your material. If there is no materials you can create your own material. How to do that?, search this forum, i´m sure it´s here:) //Tobias Quote
