hogfan1978 Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Hi, I'm trying to plot to Adobe (v9) from AutoCAD 2009. The drawing consists of an x-reffed drawing (using sheet sets) into a border. When I plot to Adobe PDF, the border and the dimensions (which are in pspace) are visible on the pdf. However, the x-reffed drawing (which is model space) is not visible. The correct layers are all turned on (in both model and paper space). This seems to happen at random times. For instance, this morning, I plotted the same drawing to pdf 5 times and on the 5th time it finally worked. However, this time I can't get it to work after many, many attempts. I've seen others with the same problem (most of those posts were old), but I haven't seen a fix that has worked. Also, I can't download another pdf converting program. I'm on a government computer and Uncle Sam gets upset when we download unapproved programs. Has anyone found a solution to this recurring problem? Thanks Quote
mrbucket Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Your on Government computer? It sounds like its working right if your plotting over and over again wasting supplies and time. (Im kidding of course, lol.) But seriously folks.... Have you tried using the autocad driver for pdf? I actually just went through something like this, except in reverse. Quote
hogfan1978 Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 Wow, I just found a fix. I went to the plotting window (the one that comes up when you hit file then print) and went to the window where you can select protrait or landscape. I hit the advanced button and I expanded the Post Script Options and under PostScript Output Option I changed the value from Optimize for Speed to Optimize for Portability. This has seemingly fixed the problem for now. -hogfan Quote

hogfan1978 Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 Mr Bucket, I'm working hard to not get that bad reputation that government employees have. I don't think I've worked under 50 hours a week in a LONG time! (That's without getting overtime!!) Thanks for the help. It looks like it's working now. Quote

Well I think as long as you try not to be that guy, it does make a difference. I do believe that most people enjoy their gov. job and make the most of it without falling into laziness. Not ripping on you for sure. Quote
hogfan1978 Posted December 23, 2009 Author Posted December 23, 2009 Well, I thought I fixed it. I tried to make another pdf after changing the said settings above and it did the same thing. I think I just got lucky on that one drawing. Like I said, this happens VERY randomly. Sometimes the object will be in the pdf and sometimes it won't...hogfan is gettin' upset! (said in a very third-person, George Castanza kind of way) Quote
