help with ribbon

Recommended Posts

I undocked the ribbon from the top and tried to move it to the bottom. In trying to do so it disappeared. Can anyone tell me how to get it back?

Try typing RIBBON at the command line and see what happens.

What is the "command line"?

Dang! I forgot even though you mentioned this to me in the past.

Can AutoDesk add a command line in the next version? I suppose that's not a good idea.

I see you posted at the AutoDesk Discussion Forums and JDM replied. Did you also see this suggestion re: lost Ribbon while you were there?

The setting for Classic UI or Ribbon UI is contained in the Application Options>Colors tab. There is a drop-down on the lower left side titled Interface Style that lets you specify the UI.

Hope that helps.

Hope your problem has already been solved.

I tried this. It did not work.

JDM knows there is no command line. He was correcting my error not yours.

I suppose you could hack the Registry. That was another suggestion I came across. Seems pretty radical.

Nope, go to View Tab > Windows Panel> User Interface command and check Browser back on.

Uh Mark, problem description says lost Ribbon, not Browser. Makes me wonder though....

Ha! I need to read more carefully today, not enough sleep. I would love to see a screen shot of the interface to see if it is just dock weird.

I have no tabs to click. I have no ribbon.

Still no joy? I would have thought that by now you'd be back in business.

Have you considered using the REPAIR option found in the Windows Control Panel under Add/Remove Programs?

I do not see a repair option there.

Really? Man I am batting 0 for 2. LOL Sorry.

Is there a REPAIR option on the installation disk?
