anndrenaline
Ive been using autocad 3d to draw buildings etc..after finishing the 3d model, i plot using hidden wireframe to come up with the 2D drawings; plan, elevations, sections etc..to scale then save it as pdf. Im wondering if i could do that with 3ds max? drawing the 3d model then plotting it into hidden wireframe like autocad? Also, does anyone know if Maya could do that as well? Cad64
Yes, you can render out wireframe images, (see here: http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=42232), but 3DS Max and Maya are not the right programs for what you're doing. If you're creating plans then you need to stick with Autocad because you will not have any way to indicate dimensions or scale on your Max renders. Max and Maya are great programs for doing architectural visualization work, but they are not drafting programs. Stick with Autocad for creating your plan drawings.
