PDF From Inventor ???

Recommended Posts

I am used to being able to make PDFs from AutoCAD drawings. But I can't seem to be able to do that in Inventor.

Can you make a PDF from an Inventor drawing?

If not, what kind of format can you convert Inventor drawings into, so that others that are not running Inventor can view your drawings?

When your ready to create your layout view just open a new "standard.dwg" instead of "standard.idw" Open in Auotcad and Plot to PDF.

I don't seem to have that option in 2008 Pro. Is that new as of 2009 or 2010?

Oh ... my ... goodness ... I can't believe you can do that!! I've been printing to PDF and it's been a real pain ...

Thanks so much!

BTW, I'm on 2010 and the save copy as pdf is available. Not sure about 2008.

Inventor 2009 has this option.

Thanks. This makes it a lot easier.

I can't remember back that far, but are you in Save As or are you in Save Copy As? Two different things. If it isn't there (I think it is) I am almost certain you can add a pdf driver.

I cant do that either, but an ease way out could be to save a copy of your drawing in “save as type BMP“ zip it and e mail it

file>save copy as>save as type>BMP

>save in>my pictures.

Go in my pictures zip it and email it

ciao
