Importing / Exporting between AutoCAD 2010 & PDMS

Hi

I was wondering if anyone out there has had much experience with using AutoCAD (2010 in my case) and PDMS?

My main issue is that i'm told that PDMS can not support real world coordinates (Eastings and Northings), and therefore PDMS users have to use other tools such as plot plans to locate items and objects in space. Is this true? (Is it also true for Revit Structure / Architecture?)

This is causing a lot of problems when it comes to cordinating, say, civil design with piping and mechanical design.

Besides using the plot plans (where you have you will have to manually move, rotate, and sometimes scale the PDMS info to the AutoCAD UCS using a common known point) is there any other way that this could be streamlined?

And vice versa.

Currently we are writing CSV files for the civil design from 12D to import back into the PDMS model.

I'm open to suggestions and thoughts.

Cheers
