Which Revit...

....do I choose? My company is upgrading their cad department to include BIM coordination. And lucky enough I get to be the guy doing all the research. We already have a PractiCAD/CAM that runs on AutoCAD 2010 program and will probably get Navisworks to run the collision checks, coordination, etc. since we have had some jobs require Navis in the past.

My question is should I start getting into Revit and let the company get it now? I thought Revit was more for engineers and architects but if our mechanical side is going to be responsible for BIM coordination will Revit help?

What are some of the other companies using out there?

Thanks y'all.

What is the main focus of your company?

If you are a mechanical contractor, you'll need Revit MEP.

We have Revit here, but we still use AutoCAD for our BIM coordination. So much easier. Granted it's a vertical product of AutoCAD but Revit is just too cumbersome to use as a good BIM 3D modeling tool.

Where at in DFW??
