Cannot revolve a self-intersecting curve (HELP)

Hi I seem to be having trouble revolving this object to create a wheel shape, basically I’m following this tutorial on YouTube:

The user is working with SolidWorks but I thought I would give it ago in AutoCAD.

In the tutorial he uses the Revolve command using the centre axis but when I tried this in AutoCAD it says:

Unable to revolve the selected object - Cannot revolve a self-intersecting curve.

If anybody can help me with this that would be great.

Maybe I can use a different command like Sweep.

Thanks

Most probably the contour is overlapping in some parts; explode it and by successively erasing elements will see where the problem is.

Wow cheers msasu, turns out a had 2 lines over the top of each other which must have been stopping the Revolve command.

I must remember that the things I draw aren’t always right as that didn’t even enter my head!

Anyway thanks very much
