Mike893 Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 When inserting doors it also inserts small sections of walls on both sides of the door. When printing or plotting the small sections of walls on both sides of the door are different thicknesses. How do make the those walls blend into the existing walls? Same thickness as the existing walls? Windows seem to be ok, not inserting any additional sections of walls on either side. Quote
Noahma Posted July 13, 2010 Posted July 13, 2010 when inserting a door, there should not be any pieces of wall with it, it should have a frame, door and door stop within the style. These are all modifiable in the style options. Quote
Mike893 Posted July 14, 2010 Author Posted July 14, 2010 Thanks! Is that located in the DOORSTYLEEDIT? Quote
Noahma Posted July 15, 2010 Posted July 15, 2010 it should be in the contextual tab on your ribbon. Quote

Noahma Posted July 16, 2010 Posted July 16, 2010 oic For Architecture 2010, would that be in the Home, Insert, Annotate, Render, View or Manage? Thanks Noahma! It wll be in the contextual tab that pops up when you select the door / window. The ribbon should turn green. It will be in the general panel when it pops up. Quote
Mike893 Posted July 20, 2010 Author Posted July 20, 2010 OK I got it! I selected the doors and the Contextual Tab turned green. Then clicked on "Edit Style" pull down menu and clicked on "Edit Style" which opens the "Door Style Properties - Standard". Where do I go from here? Thanks Quote
Noahma Posted July 21, 2010 Posted July 21, 2010 The dimensions tab. There you will find all the stuff to modify the sizes of many items. The one you are looking for is frame. I usually have the frame width set to "auto adjust to wall thickness" checked unless there is a specific condition (brick ect.) that requires it to be set otherwise. Quote
Mike893 Posted July 21, 2010 Author Posted July 21, 2010 Hi Noahma, I don't see it. I see in the General tab, Dimension icon (DIMADD). When I click on the DIMADD, the left popout window comes out. That's the same as right clicking on the door and selecting Properties. I'm in the 7th tab, Home, Insert, Annotate, Render, View, Manage and Door which only shows up when I click on the door and is green. There's 4 ribbons, General, Endcap, Anchor and Profile. Quote
Noahma Posted July 22, 2010 Posted July 22, 2010 The dimensions tab will be in the edit style window. Quote
Mike893 Posted July 22, 2010 Author Posted July 22, 2010 The drop down menu only has Edit Style, Door Style and Profile Definitions. The Edit Style icon (DOORSTYLEEDIT) does have a window that's called "Door Style Properties - Standard" and in the "Dimensions" tab, I already checked "Auto-Adjust to Width of Wall" but didn't correct it. Noahma Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 looks to me like it is a cut plane issue. Can you post a copy of part of the file? Quote
Larry711 Posted July 28, 2010 Posted July 28, 2010 Change your frame width, or do your doors have a 2'-8" frame width? Our welded frame has a width of 2-1/4" Quote
