Autocad 2010 help with circle from location

Hey, just started trying to relearn Autocad since it's been 2 years since I used it.

What my problem is that if I want to make a circle from a base point with a ° in it I cant seem to get it to work.

For example I set my base point to 10,10 and I want the circle to be exactly 8

Any easy explenation would be good.

Your profile says Inventor but it looks clear to me that its AutoCAD that you are asking about, if that is not the case, please disregard my answer.

 

There are probably many different ways to do this, I would do this with the help of Polar.

 

First make sure that Polar is on, F10 to set it to ON. I asssume that you have something at 10,10 that you can mouse over to get a OSnap (oh right, OSNAP on, F3 to set it on, and have some suitable snaps on) asctive, then gently move the mouse along the 45-degree line, you'll see a dotted line appear. While the dotted line is there, type in 8 and the center on the circle should end up at 8

If it was a Line, I would agree with you, but how do you just type in 8

Tryed what you said Tiger. My angle base point on this drawing is from 0,0 where I have a corner, and I want to set the circle center at 8

Perhaps you have not set the Angle display precision.

 

Easiest way is to check your system variable AUPREC. It will probably be 0 and should be 1 at least.
