therealsaint01 Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 I am busy drawing a cam-belt/timing belt in autocad, i know that inventor has a function that draw's the belt in and calculates everything... BUT im doing this for presentation and was wondering-how do you create the teeth without having to create them individually and rotate them according to the path you want it to travel on... I was wondering if there is a shorter way like a measure or array function. Thanks Quote
hoss Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Isn't it possible to use array I know that it can't be done in one go, each section should be done separately Quote
JD Mather Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 (edited) Make a block of one tooth then Divide using the tooth block. I didn't take the time to make this perfect (try making the block with line horizontal instead of at angle as placed as I did). When using Divide with Block set it to Align. You might need to Reverse (AutoCAD 2010 or later) the polyline. Union all together. Toothed Belt.zip Edited August 31, 2010 by JD Mather Quote
