Crazy UCS, help!

Hi All!

I have a (for me) strange problem. I have recently updated to Acad 2011. Previouslly i have always drawn my 3d drawing with absolute coordinates ( e.g @x,y,z) typically drawing boxes as walls in my house. Now it seems like the ucs is a bit crazy. I can see the symbol that shows the x y z direction, and i try to draw a box from a point. But the ucs mixes up the directions and draws the box completely wrong. x turns out to be y, y turns out to be z and z turns out to be x!

Anybody have any idea about this?

Sounds like a Dynamic UCS thing. however your UCS icon should clearly indicate which direction X,Y & Z are relative to the current UCS. I like the Dynamic UCS feature, but if you're not interested in using it right now, turn it off with the icon on your status bar, or set UCSDETECT to 0 from the command line. If you do start using DUCS, I recommend turning on the XYZ labels for your crosshairs, and also tinting your crosshairs to reflect XYZ colors. http://docs.autodesk.com/ACD/2010/ENU/AutoCAD%202010%20User%20Documentation/index.html?url=WS1a9193826455f5ffa23ce210c4a30acaf-7192.htm,topicNumber=d0e51393
