Up arrow and its use during input

My title might not be the most descriptive but as aself taugh user I dont know what the function was that I was taking advantage of. In the past I have used many versions of Autocad most recently autocad 2005 before switching to 2010. I noticed in 2010 when in the line command with dynamic input on or off it seems when I hit the up arrow trhe coordinates of the last point drawn show up in the command bar and the dynamic input window by the cursor. This however is not what I am used to. In 2005 and earlier versions I have used hitting the up arrow would cycle through reently entered dimensions, rather than coordinates of points. So say if drawing a 4'x4' square .. I only had to type 4' once and then just hit the arrow up everytime i wanted to type 4'. That might not seem like much, but when the imnput is more complicated like @4'-3-15/16

Thanks

INPUTHISTORYMODE, try a setting of 6. Remember you can type a few letters and start hitting tab.

Thanks rkent.

That worked great .. I had a setting of 15. Does anyone know what the numbers actually mean (im always curious to learn new things), like what 1,2,3,etc.. do.
