Rosey Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Is there a way of speeding up AutoCAD 2010 startup Quote
ReMark Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 You could disable the splash screen. How fast is fast? What are your system specs anyway? More details would be helpful. Quote
rkmcswain Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 Although this is generally geared towards making 2010 look and feel more like older versions, some of these steps will certainly affect startup speed. http://www.blog.cadnauseam.com/2009/06/16/autocad-2010-putting-things-back-to-normal/ Now if you have things like missing printers, bad network shortcuts, etc. those type of things have to be debugged and corrected separately. rkent Posted December 23, 2010 Posted December 23, 2010 More details. First and foremost how long does it take to startup after rebooting your computer? How long does it take to restart AutoCAD? (Start ACAD, shut it down, now start again and time that startup.) I remember 2010 on my XP system taking 50 seconds. 2011 on W7-64 takes about 25 seconds, Inventor takes much longer. Today's AutoCAD is loading a lot of files that weren't there in years past and that adds to the initial overhead. Once I have started and shut down AutoCAD the next startup is only a few seconds.
