pt3
Does anyone know how to create a curved roof (barrel vault construction). It is basically a semi - circle shape which then meets a flat roof. Is it possible using the roof slab tool? I am using AutoCAD architecture. Thanks in advance.
marmo
Hi, i do not know if I understand it, mean a shape similar to this? To put it simply draw its cross section and extrude it. That 's what you were looking for?
ReMark
Do you have a picture of one you could share with us? That way we are all talking about the same thing. Thanks.
pt3
I am trying to model a roof like this, which is semi-circular shaped. I didnt know you could extrude, so I will investigate this.
hogfan1978
Like ReMark said, sounds like you could just draw the cross section of the roof and then extrude it.
ReMark
marmo actually suggested drawing the cross-section and extruding it. I was just flapping my gums! LOL

marmo
Hi hogfan1978, the only one who can give us the answer is pt3... Regards, Marco
ReMark
I think pt3 either figured it out on his own or he lost interest. It would be nice to know either way. Then we can put this thread to rest.
pt3
Sorry for the slow response. I managed to extrude the curves but was a bit disappointed as I could not add windows etc to the curved roof which I could have done if it had known the curve was to have the properties of a roof. Thanks for your help.
ReMark
There has to be a workaround. I'm sure there are plenty of curved roofs that have openings of some sort in them.
Organic
Sorry for the slow response. I managed to extrude the curves but was a bit disappointed as I could not add windows etc to the curved roof which I could have done if it had known the curve was to have the properties of a roof. Thanks for your help. Why exactly do you think you can't you add windows to it?
Raudel Solis
the part about it being curved and most windows are made curved but for curved objects the window is divided into sections along the radius
