BlackBox Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 When i save and close my drawing in paper space and again when i reopen the same drawing, it is automatically switch-to model space. That's nice of you to share with the group... what is your 'question'? Quote
Jack_O'neill Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 I'm using 2010, and mine doesn't do that. Are you hitting the save button when you switch to paper space? Quote
ReMark Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Maybe you saved it in model space, switched to paper space to view it then closed it "thinking" you had saved it in paper space. Quote
rkent Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Probably something in your customization that is causing it to do that. Quote
BlackBox Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Probably something in your customization that is causing it to do that. That is what I suspected... perhaps somehting like this is running during ACADDOC.lsp: (if (/= 1 (getvar 'tilemode)) (setvar 'tilemode 1)) Quote
tzframpton Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 type CUI and click the current workspace. Then on the right hand side, under Properties, set the Display to start on one of the three options of choice. Quote
BlackBox Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Tannar - you brilliant SOB! I'm writing some code now for the 'Mean CAD Pranks...' thread! Quote
tzframpton Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 haha... no worries man.... just a little hidden feature of the CUI is all. Quote
ReMark Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 That's great for a new drawing but shouldn't a drawing open in the space it was last saved in? Quote
tzframpton Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 That's great for a new drawing but shouldn't a drawing open in the space it was last saved in? This is a global parameter I believe. Quote
ReMark Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 I just tested it. When I open a New drawing it opens in Model space. However, when I open a drawing that was saved in a paper space Layout it opens in the Layout and not in Model space. Quote

BlackBox Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Did we ever get an answer to the question of ACADDOC.lsp containing a line such as (setvar 'tilemode 1)? Quote
ReMark Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Does not work on MY system. That's not to say it couldn't be made to do so on your system or someone else's. Quote
Jack_O'neill Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 You don't suppose the OP has a command line switch that's causing this do you? I never use any of them other than the "no logo" one, but isn't there one that you can set to make it open in a particular view? Could it be set to force model space to come up first? What is it....uh... yeah... /v isn't it? Would that do it? Can you put "ms" or there or does that only work with named views? Quote

I just tried it and it only works for when you are starting autocad and specify a drawing to open in the command line. Leftovers from before there were templates I guess. Oh well, just a thought. BlackBox Posted February 16, 2011 Posted February 16, 2011 Did we ever get an answer to the question of ACADDOC.lsp containing a line such as (setvar 'tilemode 1)? Perhaps the OP would entertain my third (and final?) attempt at getting an answer to this question? Quote
