If your dimensions are associative, they will change with most of the changes you could make in model space. For instance, if you have a rectangle that is 3 inches long and 2 inches tall in model space, and you put associative dimensions on in paper space, you can go back to model space and stretch the rectangle. The paper space dimension will automatically update. Same if you move it, the dimensions will go with it. If you change the zoom level in a viewport, it will sometimes appear to have messed up, but a "dimregen" will fix it. Quote

In our situation, at our office, we do civil and surveying, everyone does their own drafting/design, we dont have a drafting department (there are only 7 of us) However, in one of our much larger affiliate offices they do have a drafting department. I couldnt tell you which is best, all I hear from the other offices from the drafters are complaints about the engineers, all I hear from the engineers are complaints about the drafters. Personally in my opinion, when it comes to design, it is faster to do the design in the computer, then on paper to see how well a draftsperson will copy it. Quote
