Burtzlaff Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 I tend to accidentally hit F1 quite often and i've been looking for the way to keep F1 from doing anything. Anyone know how to change what autocad recognizes F1 as? Quote
manhattan Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Probably not the solution you were after but myself and nearly every other draughtsman in my office have removed their F1 key, problem solved Quote

Tiger Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Not a uncommon problem - have change the F1 to Cancel myself - Check this FAQ for instructions Quote
Burtzlaff Posted October 2, 2008 Author Posted October 2, 2008 didn't realize this was such a common request... I just followed the instructions but, any reason why the F1 wouldn't be in my list of shortcut keys? I sorted my shortcuts by key and all i have in shortcuts are F10, F11, F12, F3, F6, F8 and F9. no F1 for some reason Quote
Tiger Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 I have a sneaking suspicion I had the same problem..I solved it by creating a new Shortcut I believe..can't for the life of me remember how I did it though - I'll ponder a bit. Edit - Oh yes. If you create a new Command (have no FAQ on that, it's in the works as we speak) but it's done in the CUI, under Command List you have a button for a new command. After the command is done, you can drag and drop it to the Short cut Keys-section and then assign the F1-button to it. Or if the Cancel command is in the Command list, and you can drag-n-drop it without doing a new command? Quote
Tiger Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 well played sir. That's ma'am to you mister! Quote
GE13579 Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 ... and don't forget you can still use CTRL+F1 or type HELP in the command line to access the help menu. Quote

GE13579 Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 I thought you were a dab hand with the command line though??? Quote
Tiger Posted October 2, 2008 Posted October 2, 2008 Two letters is about all I can manage, three at the top - four letters like in HELP I get mixed up all the time. So perhaps change it to HLP....or HPL Quote
