Solidworks Assembly

We are currently using SW2007 and have a question with regards to assemblies.

We use the mates option to assembly our parts, but we were wondering how you can highlight a part so the planes on the relevant part appear on the screen. Therefore, not having to go through the model tree to find the right part and then finding the relevant plane.

If you simply click on a part in the mates it uses the face you clicked on, it will not allow you to highlight the part in the model tree when you click over it. However, when you are not in the mates option the part will be highlighted when you click on it.

Anyone got any ideas?

I don't know about 2007, but in 2008 you can right click and select "Select Other", which shows you a list of all faces, edges etc available at the current point where you mouse is located, and each item is highlighted when selected in the list. Maybe that will do what you are looking for ?
