hchouhan
I recently modelled an interior in CAD and imported to 3DS to render. I can render all the models in colors, if selected from the material library, but whenever I add my own jpeg file to the library, I can't do anything with it. I'm not sure if the settings are off or what. It won't even allow me to drop the material on my layers. Is this something simple I just need to tweek? Cad64
I'm not sure what you're doing? "Colors selected from the material library"? "Adding jpeg files to the library"? "Dropping materials on your layers"? I think you need to take a look at some tutorials: http://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&channel=s&hl=en&source=hp&biw=1232&bih=764&q=materials+in+studio+max&btnG=Google+Search
Raudel Solis
to use your own images you need to utilize the "STANDARD" MATERIALS, click of diffuse,, and select bitmap... once you click bitmap it will prompt you to select an image. now that it is set up you can add other special maps "reflectivity etc.. a bump map is recommended. finally you have to set up the scale, the diffuse map size must match the bump map size.
