berol Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Using Autocad 2000LT with Windows XP and would like to make some lines in the drawing wider and or bolder. Read the help area in the program but it wasn't very specific on just how to make certain lines wider so they would stand out from the rest of the drawing. Help would be most appreciated Quote
Dadgad Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 By opening your LAYER PROPERTIES MANAGER you can set the LINEWEIGHT of each layer, as shown in the image. You can also turn on SHOW LINEWEIGHTs at the bottom of your screen in the status toggles area. When it is turned on, your different lineweights will be displayed as you are working on the drawing, I believe most users find this to be a bit of a distraction, and would leave it turned off. Quote
ReMark Posted May 28, 2012 Posted May 28, 2012 Lineweight can also be addressed via your CTB or STB. Quote

Help would be most appreciated The easiest way is to designate certain colors to certain widths, be consistent with this in the whole drawing, and than use Plot Styles, as ReMark suggested. Quote
berol Posted May 29, 2012 Author Posted May 29, 2012 Tried these suggestions and don't seem to be available in 2000LT which I think is very much the same as Ver 14. Do you have any other suggestions, Thanks! Quote
Blackfish Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 I believe that AutoCAD 2000LT has Layer Manager and Plot Styles? So, where the problem is? Link about object properties (where Layer Manager is mentioned): http://www.cadtutor.net/tutorials/autocad/object-properties.php and links about Plot Styles: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/ps/dl/item?siteID=123112&id=2877202&linkID=9240617 http://www.ellenfinkelstein.com/acadblog/tutorial-create-a-plot-style-color-dependent/ And use F1 in AutoCAD Quote
Blackfish Posted May 29, 2012 Posted May 29, 2012 Maybe you want to use polylines with its width? Quote
