PElgin
I'm going to convert this to a STL file to print as a 1/24th scale model. So I run the stl check and have hundreds of errors. I've been googling stl open edge, double face, etc and can't seem to understand anything about how to correct this. I've been working on it since yesterday and have more errors now than then. So many red lines. I've rewelded them all. What's the best way to correct this? Thanks.
Cad64
I could be wrong, but it looks like a lot of your polygons are flipped. If a polygon is flipped it's edges and vertices cannot be welded. If you attach your file here I will take a look at it.
PElgin
OK, great. I noticed when I applied the shell and increased the thickness, that some vertices went in and others went out. Pardon the mistakes, this is the first time I've used 3ds max. Thanks. Golden Sub 3ds .max
Cad64
Oops. I didn't realize you're using Max 2013. I'm on 2011 so I can't open your file. You will just have to go through the model, polygon by polygon, and make sure the normals are all facing the same direction. And make sure there is no intersecting geometry. You said when you added the shell modifier that the vertices went in and out, so that's why I'm assuming you have intersecting geometry. And that would definitely account for the errors.
