f700es Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 I am pretty sure SolidWorks can export to dwg. I used to work for a casework company and our SW guy could send me dwg files so I would think that it could. Inventor can save as a dwg but not sure about the 2D part of it. Could always use Solprof to make 2D view of the model in AutoCAD. If it is a 3D solid in Acad you could use flatshot on it as well. JD or a few other guys can give more info. Quote
JPlanera Posted August 8, 2012 Posted August 8, 2012 There may be a better way, but for Inventor, a 3D model can be opened 2D in Autocad in this manner. Create a .idw in Inventor, set the view you want, then save it as a AutoCAD.dwg file. Then you can open up the .dwg in autoCAD and it will be the 2d view you set up in Inventor... Quote
