Hello all,

Hopefully this will be pretty simple. ACAD 2006 has no explanation on the user prompts once -attedit is used. I'm simply working on a title block (head2) in tag (item) where my item type changes for many drawings based off what type of drawing it is. The customer wants to use PKG across the board. So I'm looking for a way to change "anything in item tag" to .

Here's the command:

Command: -attedit

Edit attributes one at a time? [Yes/No] : n

Performing global editing of attribute values.

Edit only attributes visible on screen? [Yes/No] : n

Drawing must be regenerated afterwards.

Enter block name specification :head2

Enter attribute tag specification :item

Enter attribute value specification :Help!!!! What is this???? Can I use a wildcard?

57 attributes selected.

Enter string to change: "Would be my wildcard"

New string: PKG

Thanks in advance!

its been a long time since I used -ATTEDIT but from memory you cannot use a wildcard. ? and * are taken literally so you would have to provide all possible combinations.

hopefully Lee's LISP will serve you better.

You're very welcome mflorindi - let me know how you get on with it

This works flawlessly. I'd love to see the capability to change a string on a tag added to it. But hey, beggars can't be choosy! lol This is a great routine and will save me hours of work.

That's great to hear mflorindi!

I'm really glad that the program is working well for you.

Though, I'm not sure what you mean by "capability to change a string on a tag" - are you looking to change the attribute tag name?
