white_road Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Hey There, So I just switched to Autocad 2013 Mac from an old XP version, and I'm having some serious difficulty just starting a basic drawing. When I open up a new drawing my model space has a very limited size. It's roughly 200 units in any direction, in any from of measurement (inches, cm, etc). I've tried changes the Limits to very large ones, but that had no effect, and I've tried turning limits off. Also no luck. Basically, if i try to draw a line or anything that is bigger than what my model space is confined to, the line goes off the screen, and it wont let me scroll or zoom out to find the end of it. This is seriously driving me batty! If anyone has any suggestions I would be very grateful. Thanks... Quote
DODGE Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Try zoom extents and then see if you can draw wider than 200 units. Quote
MSasu Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Along ZOOM --> Extend already suggested by DODGE, a REGEN may also help. Quote
Ollie8974 Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 Draw a line longer than 200 units. Auto CAD will adjust the drawing area. Then type Zoom All at the command line click enter to show the larger drawing area. Quote
rkent Posted May 21, 2013 Posted May 21, 2013 If you adjust limits then you must use Zoom, All. If you draw a large line or rectangle then Zoom, Extents will show the extents of the objects, and Zoom, All will show you the limits or the objects, which ever is larger. Quote
tmelancon Posted July 4, 2013 Posted July 4, 2013 Sometims when this happens to me I quickly draw a line thats 10K units in amy direction, double click my mouse wheel to zoom extents then delete my line and double click my mouse wheel again and now your set for battle!! ;-) Quote
