I try to remember to do a Ctrl+C on long texts before I hit Send for this exact reason.

 

I know on some forums I'm a member of, using the 'preview' option will keep your text in the cache. Should anything go awry, just click the back button. Don't know if it will work here.

I'm trying it now. Let's see if a preview, delete, then back will recover what I've typed. I'm going to Ctrl+C first, just in case...

 

Interesting, it took an unusually long time to Preview in this case--I did it twice. The third time it was saying "timed out" while I was waiting; but doing the Back Arrow button during the failed preview did take me back to what I had previously typed. So, if you don't timeout during the Preview, it looks like you're OK, or at least I'm OK.;)
