PotGuy
Hey, Just got Revit 2014 and having a play round with it to see what's been added, where's stuff has been moved to etc. etc. Right now, I'm looking at how to create a 600dia. pile. Is this possible through using Structural --> Column, and Edit Type? As I don't see a way to. The only column I can produce right now is a 305x305x97UC. While I know how to create other steel columns, I'm hoping to create a concrete pile that I can then place within a small concrete slab. Any feedback is greatly appreciated. I say Vanilla Revit 2014 as there's no addons applied to it, and not the nice food that I like to consume.
tzframpton
Make sure you load in a Concrete Column Family. You can make the diameter any size you want, but you gotta load in the content first.
PotGuy
Thanks frampton. How do I load in these families? Where can I find them? Edited December 13, 2013 by PotGuy
tzframpton
Application Start > Options > File Locations > Places Button. Or, when you go to the Ribbon Insert Tab> Load Family, it should be defaulted. If not, look to the Folders on the left - it should be an option for your Metric Library. Just FYI: Everything in Revit is a Family. I'd suggest you memorize this Content Library location, because without it, Revit is a really expensive program that can't do much.
