KEITH WILLIAMS
hi i have some drawings done in autocad, basic M&E, and would like to show some 3d details, i find sketchup easier to use than autocad 3d, and i am looking at putting some of my sketchup drawings into autocad, say a 3d view of some type unit in corner of drawing in a viewport, does anyone know the best way to do it? can it be done, or what is best method? thanks
Organic
You could always take a screenshot (image) of the model in Sketchup and then insert that image into AutoCad.
Cad64
Are you using the free version or the pro version of Sketchup? The pro version can export to .dwg format: http://help.sketchup.com/en/article/36203
f700es
Yes the pro version will allow you to export dwgs in the view you are in. You can export either 3D or 2D deg files. In SketchUp... and now the view in AutoCAD...
