wannabe Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 I need to rotate my Viewport by 180 degrees, but the align --> rotate view only works out the ultimate rotation, not the relative. Is there a way I can work out the current rotation, or a way that I can rotate relative to its current position? Cheers Quote
soleary Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 I need to rotate my Viewport by 180 degrees, but the align --> rotate view only works out the ultimate rotation, not the relative. Is there a way I can work out the current rotation, or a way that I can rotate relative to its current position? Cheers To work out the current rotation angle have you tried using dview ---> TWist ? You could just add 180 to this angle?? Would that work? Anyone else on the rotate relative? Quote
lpseifert Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Make sure the viewport is unlocked Ucs > Z > 180 Quote

wannabe Posted December 10, 2008 Author Posted December 10, 2008 Make sure the viewport is unlockedUcs > Z > 180 Only rotates my UCS, not the contents of the viewport. Quote
Dipali Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 change ucsfollow value to '1' before that command Quote
A1DWG Posted December 10, 2008 Posted December 10, 2008 Hi, I think you need to do the UCS bit followed by View>3D View>Plan View>Current UCS. I always find it useful to save the UCS's created as its is so much easier to recall them, especially when created at strange angles parallel to walls. Quote
wannabe Posted December 10, 2008 Author Posted December 10, 2008 Cool, cheers again, folks. I used the DVIEW to work out the current viewport rotation and then calculated my new value from that. Appreciate ALL the comments in this thread. Quote

User Posted December 17, 2008 Posted December 17, 2008 In layout space. cmd mvsetup Enter an option [Align/Create/Scale viewports/Options/Title block/Undo] ALIGN then select rotate and go from there.. its a easy quick way to rotate a viewport +1 This is a great approach, but as I found out, it can mess up some of your settings if you exit the command the wrong way. This thread helped me fix it...... http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?t=28356&highlight=Stopped+working Quote
