Linetypes embedded in drawings? How to edit?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I've inherited some drawings which use a lot of custom linetypes which seem to be embedded into the drawing itself.

I want to edit them but am unable to locate them. I've checked the acad.lin and they are not found there.

Is there any way I can edit them from within the drawing or will I have to create new linetypes and replace / purge the existing ones out?

Thanks in advance.

You can't edit them because the linetype definitions are inaccessible. I think there are one or two ways to obtain the information though using a custom lisp program.

Refer to the links that SLW210 posted.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'accessible', did you mean inaccessible?

Also, I would prefer to be able to edit these linetypes in the future so having access to them or the ones I replace them with is key for me.

Thanks SLW210, LinOut looks good judging by it's description so I'll check it out when I'm less busy. The link for ToLin doesn't seem to exist anymore.

Or maybe this

LinOut

This worked perfectly for my purpose, thanks very much SLW210.

I didn't need to try the other methods but thanks everyone else for your input.
