Resetting layer overrides of selected Xref Objects

I have a command which resets all layer overrides in a selected xref but it would be really helpful to have one which just reset the xref overrides on selected objects only. I was hoping to work something out with -layer but the options don't provide a means and my LISP knowledge is limited. Any thoughts?

Yes. I hoping for something smoother so I dont have to identify the layer, open the manager, and then locate the later. Just run command, select objects and they reset.
