Drawing File is not Valid

Was running windows 7 with Autocad 2005 installed on a virtual machine running windows XP.  The drive failed but I was able to recover the data.  I have since installed Autocad 2005 on a different PC running Windows 7.  The files recovered from the virtual machine drive won't open.  Those files that I had previously copied to the windows 7 drive do open.  The majority that I did not transfer but recovered will not open.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

@BSquared - do you get the dialog that actually says "Drawing file is not valid"? Is so, it's probably time to start restoring from backup.

Otherwise, if it just crashes during opening, there are a few things you could try.
