RetroCAD Posted February 17, 2020 Author Share Posted February 17, 2020 Agreed. I had always heard people suggest that, "the 486/100 is as fast as or faster than comparable Pentium machines". However, a lot of this test script is about directly editing and there isn't a lot of disk access beyond the initial insert. Both machines have more than enough RAM to prevent paging. While in college my roommate bought a new Pentium 60 MHz PC and I bought a new 486DX4 100 MHz PC. There were tasks that mine seemed faster and some optimized for the Pentium that his was faster with.
