Is the image an OLE or image reference (like an xref)?

What program are you copying the image from?

Im copying it from another dwg and it says its a raster image in the properties and they are xrefs.

thnx for the quick reply

Can you use the xref manager to locate the correct file? (ie. repair the path)?

hi

I tried but it says nested reference selected cannot change path name or type.

If i just copy the text over then copy a jpg from another folder it will work but its long winded.

Thnx

Can you just make a new image reference (IMAGEATTACH) to the JPEG file and avoid the copy/paste? It seems like the ref you are copying is nested somehow in the source DWG.

Thnx

tried that but no dice it had the same path as the original but still wont transfer the image with the text or allow me to redirect it.

Make a new IMAGEATACH instead of copy/paste. Reference the image from the actual JPEG and not from the dwg.

Thnx for your help so far chulse

yes i can copy the text and line work fine and where the jpeg should be i can use imageattach to go straight to where its located and reattach it and it gives it a new path and appears inthe dwg fine , but its seems like a long winded way as we have about 300 lighting images i thought there might be a way to bind the image to the dwg like in a block and then just re-insert the whole thing on drawings where needed as we do with a block.

Is there such a way? the closest ive seen is AutoCAD Raster Design application but that means more cost  and in todays climate that cant happen.

Thnx

Is this something you will need to copy/paste or re-use many times in the future?

If it is, then making blocks with OLE images (essentially a bound image) would make it much easier to re-use once it is created.
