Why does a Data Table link to excel hide data.

I made a excel spread sheet and linked it to an AutoCAD Light Table.

This is what I get:

Why is my data being blinked out and how do I fix this?

Thank you,

Hard to say for sure without the files.

What is an AutoCAD Lite  Table?

Could be graphics card or driver related.

What are your computer specifications? What OS are you using? What version of Excel?

I use the Autocad tables command in AutoCAD 2014 Lt to create a table.

I select insert options from a data link  to my select my Excel file and make my

cell range.

Sorry, having never used LT, I am ill equipped to help on this one.  :|

Your profile says you are using AutoCAD 2019, might you want to change that to AutoCAD 2014 LT?

And that answered only one of my questions.

Dadgad,

Right now , Unfortunately,  I am stuck with AutoCAD LT 2014

I don't have a any good opinion of AutoCAD LT 2014 because you can't program or change it.

I would not recommend AutoCAD 2014.

I consider AutoCAD Lt to be a very poor program.  That is just my opinion.

Because of cost  my employer will not upgrade.

Bigal,

I don't think I can convince them to spend the $199/yr or $615/yr as long as they have this

2014 AutoCAD LT that they don't have to spend anything to keep.

So there is no  point putting trail versions on my work computer and slow it down.

I might try them at home when I get the time.

Overall I prefer DOS AutoCAD 12 over this 2014 AutoCAD LT I have now.

Even with DOS AutoCAD 12 you could run lisp.

Thank you,

SLW210,  Looks like we got side tracked.

I still have not figured out why a white appears in my AutoCAD table when it is linked to an excel file.

I don't know if it is coming form the excel file or it is in the AutoCAD table.

Thank you,

You still need to answer my questions.

I think formatting border lines in excel might be creating this problem.

I went back and exported my date to Notepad then put it on sheet 2.

I created a link in AutoCAD. This time I did not format the excel borders.

The linked AutoCAD table was good.

That may be the problem.

Thank you,

  • 2 weeks later...

I cut/paste and replaced data in the excel sheet from MS word.

The reason I did that I was to make text in all CAP's

I think that process created my blank out problem.

The work around was to place data into notepad

before putting it bank into excel.

I think that that fixed the problem.

Thank you,
