How should I proceed to have more hatches? Where do I load them from? Thank you

Yes I would like to load other rows how can I do? Where do I find? Thank you

Where can you find other linetypes or other hatches?  You original post shows an image of some linetypes associated with AutoCAD.

So for LINES as the above screen shot, the list should show everything defined in that file for those linetypes. This is a text file and to add more you can edit the text file - with the correct formatting - and this will add more lines here. The files should be in the AutoCAD folder, I think they have a file type *.lin ? (night be wrong) - can search for them through Windows Explorer or through the AutoCAD customisation dialogue (there should be an entry in there for linetypes and saved locations)

For example, if you have the line types defined in another file you can just find the definition you want and copy and paste.

You can also create your own line types.

Suggest a search for create a custom line type might be the next step.

I've never done anything to create a custom HATCH though

Add line types we had multiple custom line type files, .LIN, you just use "LINETYPE" "LOAD" and can add the custom linetypes, then save the new loaded linetypes into your dwt, so they are there every time. About 40 extra linetypes.

Like Remark happy to provide some but need to know what style of linetype your looking for I was Civil.

Sorry but I'm not very experienced. I am a building technician, I only need some hatching to highlight the technological networks, gas, electricity, telephone. Send me screen shots of how I should proceed, I don't understand how to proceed? Thank you

Are you talking about hatches or lines here by the way? We usually use different line types for different services such as telephone, gas, electricity, if the engineers wanted them highlighted with a hatch I would draw a line (for example ---- T ----- for telephone) and behind that a hatch (for example ////// ) to highlight it - using different colours of shades of black

These 2 links show the process for lines

So, just to be clear, you want to apply a hatch pattern over a linetype in order to highlight it?

Might be good to get an example of what you are looking to make up? An image or CAD file? Think there is confusion between the terms you are asking for and how you want to highlight the routes

A extensive list needs shx also for some linetypes.

Additional linetypes can be loaded via the Linetype Manager.  It would help to know the name of the linetype file (it should end in *.lin) and the location of the file on your computer.

The autocad software asks me for .lin and not .shx files. How do I insert a file with extension? Thank you

If you read the links I posted above they should tell you how to create a .lin type file. These are basically text files with the .lin file extension (so you can use a text editor like windows notepad to edit them).

Pretty much save a notepad file wherever you want (though in the same folder as the CAD .lin files is a good place - use a search to find where that is. Then copy in your line data - for example the highlighted part of BigAl message. All you need to do then is load that using the dialogue box you have shown.

For the .shx part, this is an extra file, some of his linetypes (for example Fence I think) has a customised or special shape in it, and that is what the .shx file contains - the linetype file is the lin file as above. The.shx file should be saved to CAD locations where the software will find it (might be different locations for BricsCAD and AutoCAD)

You can look through BigAl list and remove any that need the .shx shapes too

for example, this description has it, remove these 2 lines

*FENCELINE1,Fenceline circle ----0-----0-----0-----0-----0-----0--
A,6.35,-2.54,[CIRC1,ltypeshp.shx,x=-2.54,s=2.54],-2.54,25.4

You might start with these as a simple start, save in a lin file (as above) and refer to BigAls list to get other linetypes if any he has shared are god for you

2nd link above

["text_string",text_style_name,scale,rotation,xoffset,yoffset]

You might need to adjust the x and y offset to make it work nicely

will make text 'E' size 2.5

*ELECTRICITY,Electric Cable ----E----E----E----E----E----E--

The size and spacing was set to set to suit us, as Steven P has explained the S= is the size R is rotation, X & Y is offset, the 40,-4 is gap.

You can copy and just make say ELEC25, ELEC5 and so on with different settings.
