Mr.Alex Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Hi, I'm having problems with text styles. I've created a few text styles, so that in theory I can control text size etc universally. Except the text I've created using these styles doesn't seem to update when I change the style (I've been trying to change the height). If I double click on the text and change the text to a different style, and back, it updates, but I shouldn't need to do that Any suggestions as to where I'm going wrong? Thanks, Alex Quote
CarlB Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 Changinga a text's style does not affect specific settings for it, such as rotation and height. So I'd say itt's not possible to control heights of previousy placed text by changing it's style or the existing style's definition. Quote
Mr.Alex Posted March 26, 2009 Author Posted March 26, 2009 Ok, thanks. Just to clarify then, it's not possible to change text heights universally just by editing it's style? Quote
dbroada Posted March 26, 2009 Posted March 26, 2009 I haven't tried it but I think if you define the height BEFORE entering any text and then a change of style MAY change the height. If the text was initially entered with a style height set to 0 it won't. Quote
Mr.Alex Posted March 26, 2009 Author Posted March 26, 2009 Ok, thanks Dave. I'll give that a try. Quote
alanjt Posted March 30, 2009 Posted March 30, 2009 if you select the text, then change the style by the 'style control pulldown' it will change the height. i do it all the time when i type in my road name, then just change it to our road text style. much easier than switching my text style just to type in 1 piece of text. this will also work from the properties menu. Mr.Alex Posted March 30, 2009 Author Posted March 30, 2009 Thanks Alanjt, I've just given that a go and it's a very handy tip! Quote
