FMoon Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 Can someone explain the Civil 3D interface to me? Quote
Cad64 Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Do you have the program? Have you worked with it? If so, then you should be able to answer your own question. This really sounds like a textbook question to me. Quote
PS_Port Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Thats a broad question, with plenty of existing material out there to explain that, just google, or try the HELP, if you have the program. Maybe a more specific question about a particular part, and with a little research on your part, people with gladly answer/help you out. Quote
FMoon Posted August 20, 2007 Author Posted August 20, 2007 I understand. I attempted to get an understanding of it through my own research, but I wanted to try my chances in the forum. Thanks for your help! Quote
FMoon Posted August 20, 2007 Author Posted August 20, 2007 I also realize it is a textbook question, however I dont have the program at my fingertips! Quote
Cad64 Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Perhaps you should take a trip down to our "Introduce Yourself" area and let us know who you are and what you're all about. These all sounded like homework questions to me, and we don't like it much when students come here trying to get us to do their work for them. I understand, from your other post, that you're trying to get a job and these are interview questions? I still think that if you've used the program you should be able to answer this question yourself, but maybe if you ask more specific questions, as PS_Port suggested, one of our Civil guys can help you out. FMoon Posted August 20, 2007 Author Posted August 20, 2007 I completely understand your points & concerns. I can only say that I assure you I am not a student trying to take advantage of your knowledge. This is actually my first time ever using a forum (honestly)! I am simply a guy trying to learn not just for this interview, but for my own knowledge! Quote
Guest Alan Cullen Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 I know your questions have been a bit broad.....I asked our Civil 3D bloke.....and he just shrugged his shoulders.....as much as to say he had no idea what you were after.......sorry...... Quote
rustysilo Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 May I ask to what degree do you need the C3D interface explained? Do you need help using the program or are you (or your employer) considering a purchase and interested in a demo? Quote
FMoon Posted August 20, 2007 Author Posted August 20, 2007 I do not need it explained in extreme detail at all. I just need a basic understanding of what it is, & what it does. Quote
rustysilo Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 It is Autodesk's civil product which is to take over for Land Desktop and Civil Design. It is dynamic in that changes you make in your design will automatically update the 3d model(s). I would recommend you visit the Autodesk website and check out the Civil 3D page where you can learn more about it. Quote
FMoon Posted August 20, 2007 Author Posted August 20, 2007 I will definately check that out for further knowledge. Thank you Quote
