Guest Ash Mair
I need to create flat 2d profiles from 3d solids and was wondering what is the best way to do this? I know it can be done by plotting to a DX file but even with the hide lines on I end up with a lot of unwanted lines that need to be cleaned up which can take up too much time. Please help!! Please help!! 2 ways I know of.. there is a flatten lisp that one can use and the bonus tools come with a flatten and remove hidden lines tool but of course you must be using full AutoCAD and not LT. Mr T
SOLDRAW SOLVIEW etc. This automatically creates 2D views. This is, done in 'layouts'. Just hit F1 and search the index if you are not sure. Nick

fuccaro
Mr T I think you should clean your mouse. When you wish to click (the submit button for example), the mouse send two clicks caused of the dirty contacts. And a personal question: how are you? Guest robfowler
Ash, it's not your mouse fuccaro was on about - it's Mr T who is having multiple similar posts to threads! Rob Fowler.
CADTutor
Hmm, it seems to be quite a shock to novice users that this forum is good humoured unlike many "serious" forums out there. I must say I like the tone and personality the forum is developing - let's hope it lasts Sorry, that was off topic
Mr T
Actually when I posted I got an error saying ' send message failed', I could not see the message appear in the forum. So I tried to send it again. Not balls or anything else, but a fault on the website/php ! Nick

tzframpton
You realize you resurrected a 10 year old thread? Are you dealing with 3D Solids? Or is there miscellaneous items that have a +/- Z value? For 3D Objects, try the FLATSHOT command. For miscellaneous objects that have Z values, use this method: http://www.cadtutor.net/forum/showthread.php?10519-Z-Co-ordinate-Adjustment&p=58061&viewfull=1#post58061
