lulumara Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Hi I had a host dwg. and there's a square box name as a warehouse as an xref and needs to change the color to 253 , but I need to change only the host dwg not the xref ,If I change the color of the xref I know it will reload all the xref to other dwgs. What should I do to change only the color of the warehouse without changing the color of other dwgs. Should I change it by opening the layer mgr and change only the color to 253? Quote
Cad64 Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 Yes, open your layer manager and change the color of the xref layer in the host drawing. This change will not affect the xref drawing. Quote
lulumara Posted July 22, 2008 Author Posted July 22, 2008 So I should look all the color of layers in xref first and go back to host dwg. to change it,is that right? Quote
alanjt Posted July 22, 2008 Posted July 22, 2008 So I should look all the color of layers in xref first and go back to host dwg. to change it,is that right? no, making layer color & linetype changes via layer dialog will not effect any xrefs. Quote
luther4000 Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 If you get into the layer manager you can change the colors of the layers of your XREF, but that only affects the way that XREF is displayed in the host drawing. Even if at some point you decide that you want to see the original colors of the REF in that drawing, you can set the VISRETAIN system variable to 0 and reload the XREF, all the original colors will reapear. spittle Posted July 23, 2008 Posted July 23, 2008 If your colours won't change in your host drawing, it's because you have used colour overrides in your XREF instead of selcting the entities colour via the layer manager. Quote
jamesfear Posted July 14, 2010 Posted July 14, 2010 Hey guys question? What happen if say; I want to start a new drawing but have the same xref and use the old colour that I made to the xref on the old drawing? sorta get me? so drawing01 I make changes to the colours through layer manager and then I start a new drawing, drawing02 can I somehow import the colour changes from drawinging01 that I made to the xref?
